Science strives to gain knowledge (research) and teaching (teaching), using recognised and valid methods and publishing or including results. In a certain sense, it is without prerequisites and open-ended, unlike Christian theology.
Western philosophy can be considered the mother of several individual sciences. These are characterized by a clearly named object area. Thus, the physics is dedicated to the inanimate nature, the biology of animated, psychology to human experience, behaviour and consciousness. They apply rational or empirical, general or specific methods, which are explained and established in the theory of science (a sub-area of philosophy).
