Inside the sauna square, visitors can take a seat in an infrared sauna, also called a laconium. This sauna is very popular in many modern thermal baths. The infrared radiation is achieved by means of halogen radiators. This heat source has an enormous depth effect. The Himalayan salt crystal cave is hidden in an earthen wall, outside in the garden and unique in the Netherlands. Himalayan salt crystals contain minerals and trace elements from nature in the correct proportion and in perfect structure. The salt differs from ordinary sea salt because it was created when there was no environmental pollution yet (about 250 million years ago). The pure salt from the Himalayas is used for various purposes and has an anti-allergic and disinfectant effect. By heating the salt crystals imported from Nepal and a cascade, minerals are released that ionize the air. The evaporation and the existing humidity make it possible to inhale these specific purifying vapors. Himalayan salt crystals have a positive effect on the alveoli.
