Body care

Taking care of your body is just as important as taking care of your face. How can you take good care of your body?

Exfoliate

Your skin renews itself every 28 days on average, but this process slows down as you get older. Dead cells build up and make your skin flaky and rough. Regular exfoliation makes your skin smoother and promotes blood circulation. Use a loofah, skin brush or sisal exfoliating washcloths to massage damp skin. Make small, circular movements. Exfoliate your skin once or twice a week.

Brushing

Brushing dry skin is a more intensive form of scrubbing. As you remove dead cells, the brush strokes stimulate lymphatic drainage. Brushing dry skin stimulates your body in the same way as a good massage or 20 minutes of exercise. Before showering, use a soft brush and brush your entire body, except your face. Start at the soles of your feet and work your way up through your legs. Then start brushing your arms and torso, always brushing in the direction of your heart. Brush over your abdomen in a clockwise direction. Start with light pressure. As your skin gets used to the stimulation, you can apply more pressure. Take a warm shower after brushing and then apply a moisturizing body lotion to your skin.

to bathe

A nice long bath is good for the body and mind. Warm water soothes aches and pains and relieves tension. Essential oil in bath water helps with all kinds of ailments, from skin problems to sore muscles. Only add the oil to the water at the last moment and mix the drops with the water. A salt bath promotes the cleansing process of the body. If you fill the bath with warm water before going to bed. Add 250 g epsom salt and 250 g sea salt. Relax for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not use soap, it makes the salt less active. Then pat your skin dry and lie down in a nice warm bed. Please note that you will sweat a lot, which is part of the detoxification process. Keep a glass of water on your bedside table to replenish lost fluids during the night. Take a salt bath about once a month.

Hydration

Just like your face, your body needs moisture. Always apply a moisturizing cream to damp skin after showering or bathing. If you are short on time, you can use a body spray. Such a spray is quickly absorbed into the skin and is easy to use. If you want to pamper your body extra, use a scented body lotion that matches your perfume. If you have a little more time, give yourself a quick massage while applying the moisturizing cream. This is a great way to promote circulation, tackle cellulite, wick away moisture and even relieve stress.
